You might be confused about my blog name and are demanding an explanation. To keep the riots down, I'll explain. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom was one of my favorite books as toddler when I was learning to read. The book taught the alphabet, clearly a rather important skill in learning to read. The title includes, "High School Edition" because in this project, my goal is to try my hardest to read for fun. I have always struggled with enjoying the readings we do for school. Even though we can choose our own books for the assignment, there is still a great time constraint on the reading here. For me, it's an understatement to say that reading 4 books in 4 weeks is going to be a challenge.
Anyways, onto my actual book. Divergent, by Veronica Roth. The book is a sci-fi young adult novel, set in the future. I have heard very good things about the book from peers that have read it. The copy I have belongs to one of said friends. I know so far that in the future settings, 16 year olds have to take a personality test to help them in choosing the "class." Different classes run along the lines of what value is most prominent in one's personality such as courage or selflessness. I believe that the book is turning into a movie soon, and I remember seeing a preview in theaters. So its not so much of a prediction that I think the protagonist, a girl named Beatrice. Will defy these classes and lead some sort of social change. I look forward to reading more. But with the time constraints and nearly 500 pages, blog followers please wish me luck.
